Catheterisation is the insertion of a catheter - a fine wire - into the body to diagnose and, if necessary, treat a range of conditions. The work is carried out via radiography, which is cine x-ray providing live imaging during the procedure. This treatment can prevent the need for 'open' surgery or long-term drug therapies.
Our three advanced cardiac catheter laboratories provide a broad range of adult and paediatric cardiology services. All treatments are assisted by the Clinic's dedicated Catheter Laboratories Team, including two nurses, a radiographer and a cardiac physiologist.
