Intensive Care Unit

The Harley Street Clinic Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides expertise and technology of the highest standard for both babies and children. The service is provided by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team of Consultant Intensivists, Resident Medical Officers, Nurses, and allied health professionals including dieticians, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

The unit is able to provide multi- organ support including the latest in cardiac, ventilator and renal replacement technologies. We care for level 2 and level 3 patients within a supportive clinical environment. The PICU specialises in the management of complex medical, surgical and cardiac cases and provides support for all medical/surgical emergencies within the hospital.

Facilities include the availability of 13 Level 3 beds (highest level of 1:1 care) including isolation rooms, and 10 Level 2 (High Dependency) beds. 24 hour / 7 day support is available from theatres, cardiac catheter laboratory and diagnostic services, our resident intensive care doctors and of course the Consultants.

The team provides clinical and advisory support for all children within The Harley Street Clinic ensuring that all of our young patients receive the best possible acute medical care.

The unit prides itself on providing excellent care for critically ill babies and children of all specialities from all over the world. Referrals and requests for second opinions from home or abroad can be discussed at all times of day with the Consultant Intensivist on call via the Hospital switchboard. We employ Arabic translators and if necessary we can obtain access to interpretation services for other languages.
