The Harley Street Clinic has taken delivery of and is ready to use not one but two of the latest state-of-the-art Linear Accelerators.  These additions further improve the range of cancer treatment systems available at The Harley Street Clinic – the only Cancer Centre currently in London to offer 2 such machines with readily available RapidArc™ technology.  RapidArc offers cancer patients a much shorter treatment time – in some cases just 2 minutes - and the benefits of millimetre accuracy. The same dose is given to the tumour as with previous Linear Accelerators but with RapidArc there is a much reduced dose to healthy tissue around or near the tumour – even compared to the best and advanced IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy) treatments. In the past, such treatment took 20 minutes and was not as accurate.
