The 1st private centre in the UK to provide the latest diagnostic technology all under one roof.
The Centre offers patients Nuclear Medicine investigations for oncology, paediatrics, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, urology and orthopaedics.
Gamma cameras
New and innovative Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras, Philips BrightView and BrightView XCT, are now available to revolutionise the understanding of and approach to a range of diseases and conditions.
The SPECT/CT capability of the XCT system provides true 3D information and improves diagnostic sensitivity. The introduction of this technique enables physicians to more accurately localise areas of the radioactive tracer that is administered to the patient (enabling diagnosis of pathologies in most of the organs of the body) and fuse these functional images with the detailed anatomical images of a CT scan.
PET/CT
PET/CT is also available at the Centre (a GE Discovery VCT 64 slice PET/CT scanner) within the same dedicated and spacious unit which includes a bright and comfortable area for those accompanying the patient. We now additionally offer IV contrast diagnostic PET/CT which provides patients with a more convenient single visit. We have also invested in the technology required to use PET/CT for radiotherapy planning (improving the accuracy of tumour delineation).
PET/CT scanning is used for cancer diagnosis, staging, response to treatment and serial follow-up and can also be used to evaluate brain abnormalities, such as tumours, memory disorders and seizures.
